Keyword Research

Keyword research is the foundation of any online marketing campaign. Before you can begin Search Engine Optimisation or Pay-Per-Click advertising, you need to know what keywords or key-phrases people are typing in when they are looking for your products or services.
There are many ways to identify keywords. Keyword research can be surface level or it can be in-depth. Quality keyword research means that the researcher has considered new angles and nuances to find a broad set of keywords.
Google Analytics

The fantastic opportunity with Online Marketing is that it is possible to track every click, every visitor and every purchase, making it easy to see your return on investment. Google offers a free ‘tracking tool’ called Google Analytics, which gives you complete transparency of the performance of your website promotions.
It shows you: How people found your site
How long they stayed on your site
How many pages people visited on your website
Which pages they visited
What country, town, suburb the visitor was from and much, much more.
With some advanced set up, you can also track each purchase/transaction or sign up to your email newsletter list. By setting up advanced tracking, over time you will see what keywords and which source of traffic delivered the highest amount of revenue. You can then use this data to make more informed choices about your online marketing strategy.

Referral Traffic
Referral traffic refers to visitors that find your website as a result of a link on another website. Using this side of marketing in the right way can be extremely powerful; however there is no easy or fast way to build referral traffic. It is a matter of networking online, swapping links & building brand awareness by “creating chatter” (getting people to talk about you online). The best way to utilise these mediums is by sharing the things that are unique, different and specific to your business. Give people a reason to talk about your business.
The boundaries are blurred between collecting links for Search Engine Optimisation, and collecting links to build referral traffic. Ideally, your referral link networking will compliment your Search Engine Optimisation strategy. Creative Collective can supply you with a links strategy that you can implement yourself (or we can implement this for you). The cost for a link strategy is included in the links section.
Some of the different types of websites that you can network with to build links are:
- Social Networking Sites
- Blogs
- Forums
- Online Press Releases
- Releasing Articles
- Directories
- Similar topic websites
Search Engine Optimisation

Search Engine Optimisation. (SEO) Search Engine Optimisation is an essential component of a long-term online marketing strategy. It is a gradual process that is ideally put into place in tandem with your paid online advertising. Imagine your website as your shop window. Having a beautiful display that lures passing customers into your store is obviously very important. But if this tantalising window is located in a deserted back alley, it doesn’t matter how good it looks: your customers will never find it. What we want to achieve is a well-laid out store with products that are easy to find, a beautiful shop window, located on prime real estate. In a nutshell, Search Engine Optimisation is the gradual process of moving your website to a place where it can naturally be seen by passing customers without you having to pay for direct advertising. We can refer to this as “moving up the ranks”, and the way that Search Engines determine these ranks is a complex and evolving system that takes more than 200 factors into consideration. Furthermore, once you are ranking well, this does not guarantee that you will remain there. It is a gradual cultivation process that also requires maintenance. Once you have a good Search Engine Ranking – ideally you are at the top of the first page – customers that find you in this way are commonly referred to as ‘organic traffic’. You cannot buy organic customers. In order to be found by organic customers your website must be customised in a way that it is “Search Engine Friendly”. There are many things that Search Engines look for when deciding which websites will receive a high rank. A search engine friendly web site is one which has quality and meaningful content, is easy to navigate, and also is easy for search engines to rank.Optimising a website consists of 2 factors: On-site optimisation and off-site optimisation. On-site optimization refers to changes that can be made to the website itself whilst off-site optimisation refers to tasks carried out outside the website being optimized, in particular building links. Both factors are equally important. Our ability to make on-site optimisation changes can be greatly affected by the program that was used to create your website. This program is known as a “Content Management System” or CMS. Many of these programs can create good-looking and functional websites that are not Search Engine Friendly. As a part of our findings, we will provide you with information on how your CMS may affect our ability to put a comprehensive SEO strategy in place. Remember Search Engine Optimisation is a long-term online marketing strategy. The process of search engine optimisation is a ‘slow burn’ whilst ‘pay-per-click’ is instant heat. At Creative Collective we are experienced at building and monitoring SEO campaigns.
