Choosing a Marrraige Celebrant on the Sunshine Coast – Australia
Posted on | October 12, 2011 | No Comments
How to choose a marriage celebrant
Choosing a marriage celebrant for your Sunshine Coast ceremony is one of the biggest decisions that you’ll have to make. Look for a celebrant that is approachable and one that you have an instant rapport with. After all, this is possibly the most important day of your life. It needs to revolve around trust and sincerity.
There are many things to consider when choosing a marriage celebrant. It is one of the choices you should be making very soon after you decide to get married. The celebrant can help with many aspects of the wedding and will be able to offer support and advice on a range of issues. At the very least you will need to choose a celebrant one month in advance, in time to lodge the Notice of Intended Marriage.
Some key tips for choosing a Sunshine Coast marriage celebrant:
- Talk to your friends. If they have been united in a civil ceremony then they will surely have some advice and possibly some referrals.
- A marriage celebrant with a good reputation will probably be booked up quickly, so start your search as soon as possible, particularly if you are hoping to hold your wedding during the busy season and on a weekend afternoon.
- Ask the celebrant for a complete ceremony guide. This should include testimonials from other couples as well as a variety of examples of different styles of ceremonies and wedding vows.
- Find a full-time wedding celebrant. An accommodating civil celebrant will offer unlimited consultations, including after hours.
- Ask if they supply the PA system, music player and signing table.
- If they have experience with your SunshineCoastceremony location, then that is a huge bonus. While a certain park or lake may look perfect, you’ll want to know if a huge plane is likely to fly overhead during the service!
Importantly, choose a Sunshine Coast celebrant with whom you and your partner feel confident. Someone you can ask for ideas and someone that you know will take your ideas on board. While there are many aspects that come together to make a wedding day special, the delivery of the ceremony is the focus of your day, so it’s vital to have a good, confident marriage celebrant. Sunshine Coast couples will find there is no shortage of celebrants in the region – and of course, no shortage of spectacular natural backdrops for your ceremony.
Good Luck for your special day!
Skin Tightening Options – Experts reveal what works

Skin Tightening Options – Experts reveal what works
How many times have you grabbed a ‘skin firming’ cream off the shelf of the supermarket and thought: ‘Great. Now I can get rid of saggy skin using this topical ointment filled with fragrances, colours and chemicals! Goodbye forever wrinkles, sagging and dull skin!’ Admit it, you’ve fallen for the multi-million dollar advertising campaigns and cast aside all logic and reason and bought the creams, haven’t you? Haven’t you??
Come on, if it were that easy, we’d all be walking around looking like Gisele Bunchen well into our fifties!
So I’m sure there’s a logical part of you that will not be surprised by this next sentence: apart from a short-term moisturising effect, these creams do nothing for you but make a dent in your wallet, the don’t even result in loose skin reduction, let alone offer a cure!
But don’t despair. If you have been seeing a few more wrinkles, more sagging skin and a little more age in the mirror than you would like, rest assured, there is something you can do about it.
To understand what works for skin tightening, first we need to understand the process of skin aging.
Our skin is made up of a multitude of layers, the lower layer of which is called the dermis. It is this lower layer that provides our skin with its firmness and structure. As we age, our skin gets thinner as the cells that make collagen and elastin, or fibroblasts, diminish from the dermis and the skin slows down the synthesis of these support-providing cells. This natural process is also aided by a reduction in circulation, and therefore nourishment, to the skin as our capillaries also diminish.
Even if we don’t speed up this aging process by exposing our skin to UV rays, this skin thinning is inevitable. All these biological breakdowns occur in the skin’s dermis. What we see on the skin’s surface is really just the end result of a process that has been occurring for many years.
So you can see why, logically, a cream simply applied to the surface of the skin is really not going to get down to where it needs to, even if an over-the-counter cream could actually stimulate collagen and elastin anyway. And if you’re not convinced, then understand this: legally, any cream sold over the counter in Australia is not allowed, by law, to penetrate past the first couple of layers of skin. Creams that do that are classified ‘medical grade’ and cannot be sold over the counter.
Fortunately, many years ago, some very clever skin doctor discovered that a process called ‘thermal stimulation’ actually resulted in genuine skin tightening.
Thermal stimulation is the process of applying heat to skin in highly controlled measures and temperatures. What this heat does is ‘injure’ the skin slightly. Our very clever skin then releases more collagen and elastin in order to heal itself. This boost of collagen and elastin also results in–you guessed it–skin tightening and reduction in wrinkles.
This is the premise behind many of the skin tightening treatments available in skin clinics and dermatologists now, treatments like thermage, laser resurfacing and fractional resurfacing.
So why isn’t everyone doing this? In short, it hurts like hell and costs a bomb. If you can imagine, to apply thermal stimulation, a laser resurfacing treatment actually ‘ablates’, or vaporises, sections of your skin to prompt it to then heal. Youch. Each session many cost over $1,000 and you may need several sessions depending on the level of aging in your skin.
But now, there is a new treatment available in Sydney that is able to trigger thermal stimulation in the skin without the pain or cost price.
By using both radio frequency and magnetic pulsing, this new treatment promotes skin tightening and rejuvenation, to rebuild and strengthen the skin from right down deep in the dermis. This is because magnetic pulses stimulate circulation to the treated area, while prompting the propagation of new fibroblasts. The radio frequency uses controlled heat to create mild thermal stimulation in the dermis, which prompts the skin’s natural healing and increases collagen and elastin synthesis.
Unlike surgical procedures to tighten skin, this is no band-aid solution. This treatment actually promotes the growth of new skin firming cells in the dermis, so the tightening that occurs is natural, not fake.
While you will need up to 10 sessions, each session costs a few hundred, not thousands, of dollars, and feels like a warm, pleasant hot stone massage.
This new treatment, which is applied using a revolutionary multipolar applicator, can be used anywhere on the face or body for not only skin tightening and wrinkles reduction, but cellulite removal as well.
The treatment just hit Sydney so be sure to check it out.

Examples of bad marketing

The longer that I work in this industry the more that I find examples of bad marketing increasingly funny. Here is a snap shot that I took last night. I think they may have been inspired by the Australian Coles campaign to feed a family for under $10.00
